8th Grade Graduation
Graduation probably brings more excitement to eighth grade than any other activity. It is the closing of one door to childhood and the opening of another door to adolescence.
Many activities, such as the class trip and shirt signing, lead to this memorable night. The graduates also receive academic pins for mastering each content area. And a special few of our graduates receive high school scholarships for demonstrating excellence in various areas. Our high school scholarships include the John Gallenstein scholarship, the "Just a Nice Kid" scholarship, the St. Mary's scholarship, and the Joseph Frommeyer scholarship.
Graduation itself is celebrated with a student-planned Mass at which time diplomas are presented to the graduates. To complete the ceremonies, students and parents watch a class video and have the opportunity to reflect about the past and the future. Graduation is an exciting time for the students, the parents, the teachers, and all of us here at Blessed Sacrament; however, it is not the end, but the beginning of a new adventure along God's path.
